Weaving inspiration and looping together community through the threads of my art.

They have makeup on their face resembling a clown or mime, with glasses and dark lipstick, and are posing for a photo.

The woman on the left wears a sweater with a layered, neon-green, purple, and black crocheted design, fishnet stockings with a heart pattern, and a dog hat with large floppy ears. The woman on the right wears a multicolored crocheted vest, pink leopard print ripped leggings, and has long braided hair with a white and purple hood over her head. An exit sign is visible above them.

Meet Tsion!

Hi! I am Tsion, a 22 year old fashion designer and fiber artist. My favorite color is green. I am obsessed with squishmallows and sweets, and have been crocheting for over 10 years now.  I started Thriffty Fingies as a sort of last ditch effort to reach my dreams while I was at the lowest point in my life. For me crochet and fiber art have always been a form of expression and coping mechanism for years. There was something therapeutic about threading together creations with my own hands. As I began studying the different wearable creation techniques I discovered a love for freehanding. Soon I realized my passion for creating and helping make my fellow fashionistas' visions come to life. I wanted to reach a variety of divas, from fellow crochet lovelies to eccentric who love a little yarn in their collection. And thus I created Thriffty Fingies! There is so much more to come than just crochet but for now have a look around, maybe grab a pattern/piece or two and stay tuned for what Thriffty Fingies is going to become!

Our Values

I want Thriffty Fingies to be a safe space for the ostracized, marginalized and judged of the world. As a black queer woman, who has been battling mental health issues for years,  I understand navigating today’s political and social climate can be so difficult. You are told to vote with your dollar and are unsure if the brands you are supporting could be funding horrific things and acts behind the scenes. Rest assured that at Thriffty Fingies love is the priority and  kindness is practiced in action. We do not tolerate or support any form of hatred or bigotry towards minorities here.

FAQs

Do you take commissions/make custom pieces?

Yes I do! If you have a specific vision or design you are looking for I am more than happy to create a custom piece for you. Commissions are the biggest way to support me and my brand other than purchasing patterns or one of one pieces.

How much?

Prices are determined by a variety of factors like material costs, time put into the project, and special or complicated additions. In order for me to determine the price of a commission or give you an estimate I will need a good amount of information about what you want created. Always feel free to reach out to me for a price estimate even if you are not ready to commission yet!

What can you make?

Not to toot my own horn but I can make just about any form of wearable piece and/or amigurumi. I am extremely proficient at visualizing the patterns of garments and freeforming them. The only pieces I will decline making are scarves and blankets. Nothing wrong with them but they are not my cup of tea to crochet.

How long do I have to wait for you to make my piece?

Wait times can vary due to what you are purchasing. If you are purchasing a pattern then you will almost immediately receive an email with the pdf for you to use. One of one pieces will be mailed bi-weekly and you will be informed after purchase of your shipping date. Commissioned pieces' wait times will depend on my schedule and what kind of piece you are commissioning. I am always sure to communicate often with my clients and keep them in the loop about where their commissions sits in my schedule and my estimate deadline date.

How should I wash my piece?

Washing Instructions will be included in the thank you letter alongside your piece. However for the majority of crochet piece hand washing is best, thought you can attempt to machine was on the cold and delicate setting, using a mesh bag is advised.
